Liquid Garments | 2020 | SERIES OF 6

Assembled Garments painted with liquid latex: Latex, vintage buttons.

This series of liquid garments is capturing something I’ve never seen. My father’s wardrobe. There was never a trace of any of what he whore during his time with us. As if it all vanished the day he passed away. It’s exploring how they must of kept his body warm and snug in winter and how they gave shape to his skinny appearance. A skin around his skin. And how that skin must have felt on my skin when he hugged me.The silky and peachy texture of the painted latex gives the garments a vulnerable and precious quality. It’s translucent character makes it almost melt in daylight. And it will eventually. it will deteriorate my memory of his shirts and trousers vanish. But they were never real anyway.
